A standing-room only audience of top remodelers gathered in the grand ballroom of the Peninsula Hotel Chicago on Oct. 18 to accept their 2006 Top 500 Top Performer Awards and Master Design Awards.

Seventeen companies received Top 500 Top Performer Awards, and 67 awards were given to the winners of the 28th annual Master Design Awards. In partnership with The Chrysalis Awards, Janus Awards were given to companies who won both Chrysalis and Master Design Awards during 2006; 14 companies were recognized with this honor.

The featured speaker for the evening, former NFL player and NFL teamwork consultant, Pat Richie of the Sports Leadership Group, shared his talk on a top management book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team.

Attendees were entertained throughout the evening by Ken Kanline of The Southern Building Show and the Chrysalis Awards. He performed humorous selections from his Building Songs CD, “I’m Missing My Remodeler Tonight” and “I’m a Big Time Remodeler.”

The Qualified Remodeler event was supported by its corporate sponsor, GE Money, which has sponsored this event for three consecutive years. They were joined by hospitality sponsors, MasterShield Gutter Protection, Milgard Windows and Doors, and Staron by Samsung.
