It was the worst of times.” If this phrase pertained to the remodeling industry and not two 19th century cities, the author Charles Dickens, it seems, would only have it half right. These are not the worst of times for the remodeling industry. And it surely is the best of times for many remodelers. In large measure, the 2007 Top 500 celebrates the achievements of those who are experiencing the best of times within a profession that is arguably as vibrant and thriving as ever before.

From specialty firms to full-service to design-build, the big firms that comprise this list are not without their challenges amidst their opportunities. This year’s list was compiled, as was last year’s, requiring third-party verification of revenue figures.
