Several design strategies were used to tie the space together, including a large, radiused granite countertop whose continuous curve connects the sunroom, living room and kitchen and carries the wood beams throughout the home.
The owners’ love of natural materials was also carried into the master suite with maple cabinets, marble and travertine tile throughout the master bath. The bedroom was enlarged by relocating the closet and constructing a new exterior wall. It also features a new bank of windows connecting the master bedroom to the outdoors.
The updated design fits in with the interior of what originally was a ranch style home, reuses some of the original materials and fits the clients’ needs. The entire house was opened upto
create larger, flowing spaces and connects well with the outside.
