May 4--Dave and Karen Sutherland spent weeks planning the remodel of their 1970s-era Vancouver home. Planning turned to action at 6 a.m. on a recent Monday.

The work crew ripped up carpets, tore down a half-wall and demolished most of the kitchen cabinets within the first hour.

An impressive start, thought Karen Sutherland. Still, she wondered if the workers could maintain the pace and finish the project by the end of the week.

The Sutherlands weren't on a home remodel reality show, but were are among the homeowners who have hired 3Day Kitchen & Bathroom, a Clark County company that promises to take your bathroom or kitchen from drab to fabulous within three days.

Larry Claypool and Steve Rosier, owners of the 3Day dealership, added two more days on the Sutherland job because on top of the kitchen remodel they were replacing the living room and hallway carpet, installing built-in bookcases, reconfiguring the entryway and installing laminate flooring in the dining and family rooms.
