NARI Launches “NARI Radio”
Business Related Podcasts for the Remodeling Industry

Des Plaines, Illinois – The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) announced the launch of NARI Radio, a new podcast program that will address a wide variety of remodeling business topics. All episodes will be available at no charge.

NARI Radio content will cover topics such as Universal Remodeling, Selling Green, Business Fitness, Sales Strategies and much more. 

"The podcasts will be a great resource for visitors to the site," says NARI Education Committee Chair Don Van Cura, CR, CKBR, GCP, CLC.

Each episode will range from 10 to 12 minutes in length and are hosted by Ron Cowgill, CR, CKBR, GCP and Mike Holmes, CR and John Gordon, three seasoned industry experts.  Each episode consists of the hosts interviewing an expert in the topic for that episode.  They are designed to be easy, quick listens, packed with educational information.

About the interviewees:

Bryce Jacob is Vice President of Dave Fox Remodeling, Inc. which is a 35 year old residential Design/Build firm with revenues of $5.5M.  Bryce also serves as Vice President of NARI Central Ohio and as the Co-chair of NARI National Education Committee.   He is a former Executive Director for Sunrise Assisted Living and became experienced with aging in place design.  He later worked as an operations consultant for an architectural firm in Charlotte, NC that designed senior living communities throughout the country.  He has worked in conjunction with Ohio State University and Lowes Corporation to create educational materials including a video focusing on Universal Design.  Bryce’s latest work with Universal Design includes the development of an educational course for NARI members to enroll in to gain valuable information regarding this important trend.

Paul Morse, GCP, CR, CAPS, president of Morse Constructions Inc. comes from a long line of builders and cabinetmakers. After more than 30 years in the industry, Paul is happy to see the reincarnation of sustainable design and building.  “In the 70s, environmentally friendly building was on people’s minds,” he said. “Today, we not only have renewed interest but the scientific and technological know-how to accomplish green remodeling most effectively.” Paul is the first in the northeast and the third in the country to receive the designation of Green Certified Professional from NARI National.  He now helps others achieve this goal by facilitating study groups for his local NARI chapter as well as educating his clients on the benefits of sustainable renovations.

Mark Richardson, CR has been an outspoken advocate for the advancement of the remodeling profession during his three decade span in the industry. He has authored many articles and white papers on business related topics and is a frequent national speaker on national business issues. Richardson is currently the President of Case Design/Remodeling, Inc., one of the nation’s largest home improvement and remodeling organization.

About our NARI Radio Hosts:

Ron Cowgill, CR, CKBR, GCP is the owner, designer and salesperson for D\R Services Unlimited (www.restorethenorthshore.com) and has been in the remodeling business for more than 20 years. Cowgill is no stranger to educating the public about remodeling, as he has been on several TV shows and can be heard on the radio during his weekly radio show, “Mighty House.”

John Gordon has been active with NARI since 1992 when he joined the Charlotte NC NARI Chapter.  He has held numerous volunteer roles at both the chapter and national level and is a NARI National Past President.  Gordon joined the Home Depot in April of 1992 as an assistant store manager. He moved on to be a store manager to several stores, a district manager, a divisional pro manager and is now the director of pro business. He is responsible for the day to day operations of Home Depot’s pro division and is the link between the field and the Store Support Center. Prior to his Home Depot career, Gordon worked for 84 Lumber for 11 years in sales, operations, and purchasing. He holds a BA from Villanova University. 

Mike Holmes, CR is the Co-founder and President of Creative Carpentry Remodelers, Inc. and has been in the remodeling business for more than 20 years. He has served on various industry related committees and was a technical advisor (35 segments) on The Discovery Channel's home improvement show, Gimme Shelter. He speaks at several local seminars and tradeshows and teaches a college courses on (how-to) in home remodeling. Mike has been a guest speaker on WGN's Milt Rosenberg Show and WCPT's “Mighty House” as well as regularly filling in on WGN's "Mr. Fix-It” Show for vacationing Lou Manfredini in Chicago.
