Project location: Prior Lake, Minn
Project cost: $90,123.42
The homeowners of this early 90s traditional rambler stucco home were becoming more and more aware of the moisture intrusion problems that their house was suffering from. Approximately 10 years after they built the house they realized they had to get it repaired in order to keep the value of the home. After a trying 2-year litigation process, this project - one that would result in a complete stucco tear-off and exterior transformation - was on its way. This project demonstrates exceptional utilization of the surrounding habitat to blend together exterior materials and color schemes, while remaining sensitive to the original atmosphere of the home.
The goals of this remodel were to remedy the moisture intrusion problems this stucco house was battling, enhance the curb appeal of this home by redesigning the exterior facade to incorporate a combination of different exposure siding products, trim board, stone and paint colors. A complete window replacement job was also necessary due to the failing of all existing windows. Also, maintaining the spectacular panoramic views was one the main considerations of this exterior face-lift project.
