The team designed a 650-square-foot addition to the client’s suburban home as an aging-in-place apartment for the client’s elderly dad. It has its own private entrance as well as an entrance through the main house, so the family can be together or have privacy as desired. There is a large bedroom/sitting room with cathedral ceiling, a full bathroom, a kitchenette and stacked laundry. The bathroom’s features include a walk-in shower with bench and grab bars. Large windows bring in plenty of daylight and garden views.

The homeowners of this 1970s ranch-style home on Lake Lanier wanted to expand their living space and update the appearance to turn it into a modern lake retreat. To achieve this goal, the guest bathroom and master bathroom were gutted and rotated 90 degrees to gain additional space for the master bathroom. An addition was added to the existing master suite to expand the space and allow room for a home office and large master bathroom, which includes a large, tiled shower, walk-in closet, and double vanities.

Model Remodel
Seattle, Wash.

A dormer addition may not add a lot of square footage, but it can drastically change the functionality of an attic. These Seattle homeowners love the functionality, style and value this attic dormer adds to their home. The team was able to fit both a new bathroom and hallway closet into the additional space. They also remodeled the entire attic to be more comfortable with safer stairs, upgraded insulation and new HVAC. Now the attic is an oasis with a secluded spa on the top floor.
