The scope of work consisted of residing the entire church and reroofing the steeple. Our goal was to give the church an updated look with products that would protect the building for years to come.

The building was initially 130 years old so there was a lot of damage and rot when the team removed the original siding. There were also several additions and other building constructed in later years so they had to find a way to tie in those different aspects, giving it the same look as the rest of the church. Other challenges included the logistics of getting permits from the city in a downtown area where the church still had to have services.

To combat these challenges, they had to remove the water damaged and rotted plywood that was under the original wood siding. After the damaged plywood was removed, it was replaced with new plywood, wrapped in a weather barrier known as Hardie Wrap, and then resided with James Hardie Color Plus siding in a few different styles. We also had to limit our install times during the day to allow for services to take place as normal with minimal disruption.

Products:

Roofing: CertainTeed
Siding: James Hardie
