Location: Elkhart Lake, Wis. | Square footage: 240 | Project cost: $50,000
The objective was to build out a kitchen in a space that was meant to be a garage in order to take the space from a “white box” garage to full custom home. With it being a small space, the firm needed to incorporate ample storage along with an element of style and refinement. The rest of the residence has a rustic industrial feel, so that needed to translate into the new kitchen as well.
Addressing the limited space, the company made sure to use vertical storage and multi-purpose zoning to deliver all the client wishes. A large island provides prep, cleaning, storage and dining functionality. Adding cabinets that reach to the ceiling helps take advantage of the vertical space, and custom, climate-controlled wine storage was built into the stairs within feet from the kitchen.
