The owners purchased a contemporary house and turned to us to transform the kitchen for their needs. They love to cook and entertain, so they required more storage and refrigeration and everything needed to be concealed since the home is so open. The goals were to create a truly stunning space with respect to the architecture of the house and incorporate state-of-the-art contemporary cabinetry and appliances while increasing function and storage. Two concealed walk-in pantries, a large island with seating, and ample storage including glass cabinetry fulfills all storage needs.

The challenges the team faced were using the existing square footage and window placement while reconfiguring the space to allow for the clients desired appliances; also to improve functionality for cooking, storage, and entertaining. They accomplished this by squaring off what was an angled display wall on the left, creating space for an oven quad of two single ovens, steam oven, and microwave, plus elegant glass display cases and a wall-mounted television with refrigerated drawers beneath. They created two walk-in pantries in the corners where previously there was one, with slide-in doors utilizing matching cabinetry. One the right wall, they relocated the garage door to make room for a suite of refrigeration appliances including two 30” column refrigerators, a 30” column freezer, and 30” column wine storage. Contemporary European cabinetry was utilized for a sleek, modern aesthetic in a combination of ebony wood-grain laminate on the perimeter, and a pale gray in high gloss for the island. Quartz countertops were chosen for their modern vibe and ease of care.
