In their 50s and 60s, the homeowners wanted their primary bathroom to be designed for aging in place. They desired an updated, contemporary aesthetic with a larger shower and shampoo niche, separate vanities, and a bathroom door for privacy. They also requested a light, neutral look with colorful window treatment and an increase in the size of the adjacent wardrobe closet if possible.

To accommodate future age-related needs, the remodeler designed an ADA-compliant floor plan with a larger, step-free, curbless shower and water closet. Additional space was captured from a wide hallway while area was taken for the wardrobe closet. To add visual expanse, the company raised the shower ceiling, and a glass door and enclosure were installed above a new pony wall.
