The team performed a whole house renovation and added a second floor at the back of the house while maintaining the historic front elevation. They designed the addition to include a master suite, laundry room and kid’s room. The team also gutted and rebuilt the kitchen and living room, located directly below the second-floor addition, to improve the floor plan. Since the home was over 100 years old, the team paid significant attention to maintaining and restoring the historic elements of the home while adding modern conveniences and bringing everything up to code. The original pocket doors in the living room were completely restored and tracks repaired to working order.
The plaster damage in the dining room was extensive, so besides the plaster repairs, the team closed two of the three openings to the room and opened another for better flow through the house. An outdated bathroom was ripped out down to the studs, with heated floors, a steam shower and double vanities incorporated into the new space.
