The owner of this home wanted to remodel their existing kitchen and primary bathroom with updated layouts, as well as open up the dining room, add a new patio door, and replace the flooring throughout with new hardwood floors. Careful attention to detail was given for this project, with seamless tile installation and precise finish carpentry coming together to create a clean and high-end appearance.

Some of the unique construction techniques for this project included installing a large beam with new footings in the kitchen to allow for more usable square footage, as well as a zero-threshold shower with floor heat in the primary bathroom. The home’s functionality was dramatically increased by removing walls to open up the space. This also allowed for better sight lines. The kitchen also shifted to an L-shape, allowing for a more effective walking triangle. Functionality improved in the primary bathroom by opening up the space and installing a second matching vanity area. Though this project did not run into any significant challenges, the team did run into product and permitting delays. They worked around the delays, communicating with the client to split the project into phases which allowed them to move forward with some parts of the project while waiting for the permits and products to be ready. In an admirably environmentally friendly move, much of the existing plumbing and products were reused and reinstalled rather than needlessly thrown into a landfill.
