The owners wanted to remodel their existing lakeside home in a modern style while maintaining the garage and improving the entry sequence. They also desired to create an open floor plan withan efficient design suited for entertaining as well as accommodating friends and family.

The tight lot, narrow street, rocky soils and very steep terrain made the project an incredibly difficult build. Many of the materials and equipment were barged in by boat on the lakeside of the property for easier access to the site. Because its footprint could not be expanded, the house is designed to be compact with floor-to-ceiling glass that maximizes viewsof the lake. A bridge from the street to the entry door provides direct access, and a flat garage roof complements the new, modern style.
