Architect/Designer: Lisa Parramore
The residents of a recently built home desired a shaded outdoor living area to enjoy cooking, dining, entertaining and relaxing. They hoped for a single-level, continuous space to unify all these activities. Their small concrete patio was full of mismatched furniture and umbrellas and a lonely grill.
The company designed a composite deck over the patio, doubling the footprint of the area. An aluminum pergola with motorized, operable louvers that close automatically when it rains helps provide protection from the elements. Discrete spaces underneath the pergola include an outdoor kitchen, a fire-pit lounge area, a spa and a dining table bounded on two sides by a built-in bench.
