The COVID-19 pandemic changed homeowner interactions. What measures do you use to signal an extra level of care when working in or around a client’s home?
We have trained employees on health and safety precautions on job sites in the field. We take measures to avoid crowding areas and encouraging people to use online services for communication.
We’ve increased supervision of subcontractors to keep client homes sanitary and create a safe working environment. Extended and more frequent communication with clients help us the most in understanding their comfort levels and risks, and we work with them on an individual basis to move projects forward at the speed and within parameters that keeps clients safe.
Seamless communication technology is now both necessary and expected. How have you used new technology platforms to promote better customer communication and satisfaction?
We are now offering virtual meetings via Facetime, Zoom, and other platforms instead of at-home consultations. We have new virtual material to share with clients electronically – including instructions on how to measure their space so designers can move forward with drawing projects before ever needing to step foot in their home.
We also have been using virtual meetings for material selections in the showroom, and mail samples directly to clients’ homes after disinfecting.|Our social media and online marketing all but replaced print marketing during this time. We now receive leads via Facebook message and Instagram, with rapid response rates allowing prospective clients to get in touch with a designer about their project quickly after reaching out. |
What was your message to clients with projects in progress in order to keep them happy and satisfied during the uncertainty of the stay-at-home period?
We’d like to share an update about Advance Design Studio’s continued operations as an “essential” business during this time both with new client home projects in design and with project installations in the field. We are continuing to serve clients with relatively little interruption and safe practices in place.
Our design team is both working from home and rotating in our office (socially distanced!). That means our phones are being answered as usual, and we are generally functioning as normally as possible. Shipping for cabinetry and other product has been on time as scheduled. Please leave us just a little more time to funnel calls or return emails as many of our staff are working remotely. We are currently completing entire design processes remotely, and the client experiences seem to be going quite well! |We are performing several home additions and screen porches, which begin from the outside and are completely cordoned off on the inside.
Our crews are taking safe measures into consideration, and customizing construction zones to meet client’s wishes. Kitchens and baths are plastic-ed off from the rest of the home, and basements are easily self-contained. Our project management team is committed to providing the same level of field management and excellent customer service that we always have!|Now is a great time to get your on-hold project into the field calendar, or to get your designed project submitted for permits as the permit process can take several weeks during normal circumstances. Resumption of on-hold projects will be arranged along with new projects on a first-green-lighted, first-served basis in order to accommodate everyone who wishes to get started.
