Associated Materials, a building products manufacturer well known for its window and siding brands, announced Tuesday that it’s committing to $100 million in investments in “its people, equipment, and digital technologies” as part of a long-term transformation and growth strategy. In a release, the company also said the investments are geared towards “strengthening the customer experience to align with changing market dynamics,” and “positioning customers for the anticipated remodeling boom.”

“A confluence of trends in the current housing market leads us to believe that people will be more likely to remodel their homes in the coming years,” said James Drexinger, CEO of Associated Materials. “We believe these investments will provide our customers with a competitive advantage to meet increased consumer demand for our products across the U.S. and Canada.”

In recent years the company has won awards for product launches as well as updates to existing products. Most notably, the company recently introduced two new composite cladding lines: Ascend and Align. The company also introduced new energy-efficient vinyl window products including: ClimaTech PriME, and Mezzo. In the home improvement industry the company is perhaps best known for its Alside brand of windows and siding.

The investments are aimed at upgrading and increasing capacity across all Associated Materials’ major product categories, including vinyl windows and doors, vinyl siding and accessories, composite cladding and metal building products.

“We will be installing new lines, upgrading existing ones, and adding automated technologies,” said Drexinger. “These investments are part of a long-term strategic move to meet the evolving demands of the market and the changing needs of our customers, assuring that they and us stay ahead of the curve and are ready for the future.”

The investment will include:

  • ·       Installing new equipment in laser, camera, and welding technologies.
  • ·       Launching industry-leading automated IG assembly to improve weather seals and increase operational efficiencies.
  • ·       Installing new siding technology for automated, in-process color reads.
  • ·       Accelerating adoption of lean standards, streamlined processes, and new approaches to boost operational efficiencies and product excellence.

“Associated Materials is not merely adapting to change but embracing it. Our goal is to provide an amazing customer experience, focusing our efforts on enhancing their satisfaction,” said Drexinger. “We are well positioned to lead the charge in shaping the future of the industry and positioning our customers for success in the forthcoming remodeling surge.”  QR
