1. Demand for services is stronger than ever. Supply delays are widespread. Building product prices are rising. Please name the concrete steps you take to keep customers satisfied as timelines and prices are fluctuating?
Transparency is the key. We make sure that we keep our customers informed throughout the process so they aren’t surprised by any delays in timelines or any increases in pricing. We use project management software that has a client facing website that keeps our clients updated every step of the way. We also have weekly production meetings where we discuss project schedules, potential change orders, and other construction related items so everyone on the team is aware of all the details.
2. A good remodeling or home improvement firm knows the limits of its capabilities to take on additional work. What do/would you communicate to clients when you cannot handle their job and must decline their inquiry?
We make sure that all of our leads are informed of both our design and construction schedules at first contact so that we aren’t wasting anyone’s time. We are a big proponent of offering a referral if we aren’t a good fit or can’t take on a project due to scheduling conflicts so we always provide that in those situations. With the amount of work going on right now we have found that most prospects are more flexible with scheduling.
