Cornerstone Building Brands, a manufacturer of many well-known exterior building brands, said it had reached an agreement to acquire one of the biggest names in building product manufacturing and distribution, Harvey Building Products, which manufactures doors and windows under the brand names SoftLite, Harvey and ThermoTech.

The large distribution arm of Harvey Building Products was sold to Lansing Building Products in 202O.

The acquisition, according to corporate officials, increases Cornerstone Buildings Brands’ exposure to the residential remodeling market and strengthens the company’s position in both distribution and dealer channels. The transaction, subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions, is expected to close in the second quarter of 2024. Terms were not disclosed.

Harvey, headquartered in Waltham, Mass., specializes in premium, custom windows and doors, employs some 1,200 workers at four manufacturing facilities in the Northeast and Midwest.

“Harvey Building Products has a strong reputation as a premium R&R manufacturer, and is an ideal addition to Cornerstone Building Brands as we forge ahead in our journey to be a premier exterior building products company,” said Rose Lee, Cornerstone Building Brands president and CEO. “This transaction will strengthen our presence across the Northeast and the Midwest with key leading brands. It will also enable us to be a stronger partner of choice for our customers.”

Cornerstone is well known for its family of brands including PlyGem, Mastic, Variform, Simonton, Silver Line, and Great Lakes, among others. QR
