NEW YORK—The first North American Designer Bathroom Challenge is open to licensed architects and designers and challenges creative professionals to re-envision the bathroom space. Villeroy & Boch in partnership with ArchDaily.com launches its challenge for professionals to create a “multisensory” bathroom experience concept. The Designer Bathroom Challenge seeks original ideas that would elevate and enhance the use of the bathroom.
Because innovative bath and wellness products are at the core of the Villeroy & Boch culture, the company hopes that its own products will inspire designer creativity, help re-imagine daily routines and transform those routines into a multisensory experience. Designer entries will be evaluated by an expert jury panel that includes Constantin von Boch, a ninth generation family member of the company founders.
The winning designer of the Designer Bathroom Challenge will be awarded a trip to Germany to attend the ISH 2015 Fair in Frankfurt, and explore the company’s historic headquarters in Mettlach. While visiting Villeroy & Boch, the winner will stay at the traditional European castle, meet with the in-house design team, visit the Villeroy & Boch Museum and Spa, and receive a private tour of the porcelain factory.
The submission deadline is December 31, 2014, and the winners will be announced at KBIS 2015. More information on the competition and entries can be completed here.
