Throughout the years, this 19th century smokehouse had fallen into disrepair. The homeowner’s primary objective was to make the smokehouse functional again while creating an outdoor living area for entertaining throughout the year. Repairs were made to the original structure with period-correct materials. An outdoor fireplace was constructed to not interfere with the function of the smokehouse. Natural field stone and cedar shakes maintain the flow from the original structure to the new portion of the pavilion.
