Extension Given for Comments on Proposed Rule

by Kacey Larsen

WASHINGTON—The public comment period for the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Occupational Exposure to Crystalline Silica has been extended by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration. An additional 15 days have been added, setting the new deadline on Feb. 11, 2014.

Stakeholders are allowed additional time to comment on the proposed rule because of possible public confusion due to an error on www.regulations.gov. To submit comments, click on the “Comment Now” box next to the title “Occupational Exposure to Crystalline Silica; Extension of Comment Period.” Instructions will be given for making online submissions. Public hearings on the proposed rule are scheduled to begin on March 18, 2014.
