Fabrication Training Set By ISSFA
Henderson, NV The Training & Education Center operated by the
International Solid Surface Fabricators Association has announced a
comprehensive 2001-’02 schedule of educational courses aimed at
The series of two- and three-day programs will take place at
ISSFA’s Training & Education Center (ITEC), located at the
association’s headquarters here.
The not-for-profit center, opened nearly two years ago, includes
equipment, classroom and demonstration space and a fully
computerized business training center, according to ISSFA
“ITEC is the only educational facility in the industry run by
fabricators for fabricators,” said ITEC administrator Steve Bace,
adding that 11 leading solid surface manufacturers currently accept
a Certificate of Completion for the ITEC Basic Fabrication Class as
qualification to purchase and fabricate their material.
The course schedule for the balance of this year is as follows:
AutoCAD (Oct. 9-10); CNC (Oct. 11-12); Repair Techniques (Oct.
15-16); V-Grooving (Oct. 17-18); Be an Artist for Two Days (Oct.
22-23); Thermoforming (Oct. 24-25); Basic Fabrication Techniques
(Nov. 13-16); Total Quality Management for the Small Shop (Dec.
3-4); The Commercial Job Process from Start to Finish (Dec. 5-6);
The Break Even Point (Dec. 10-11), and How to Manage Shop Employees
The schedule for the first half of 2002 includes the following
sessions: Basic Fabrication Techniques (Jan. 7-10 and Feb. 25-28);
Repair Techniques (March 11-12); Inlay Techniques (March 13-14);
Basic Fabrication Techniques (March 25-28); Advanced Fabrication
Techniques (April 8-11); AutoCAD (April 22-23); CNC (April 24-25);
Marketing Solid Surface to the Remodeling Industry (May 6-9); Basic
Fabrication Techniques (May 13-16); Repair Techniques (June 3-4);
Thermoforming Techniques (June 5-6); The Break Even Point (June
24-25), and How to Manage Shop Employees (June 26-27).
