Built in the 1950s, the existing 1,500-square-foot home contained materials with asbestos and lead. The remodel yielded a 3,276-square-foot, 3-story structure. For maximum indoor air quality and energy efficiency, the owners installed a heat recovery ventilator system with a HEPA air filter, heat pump and a 3-zone heating system. Additional features include a tankless water heater, wiring for future photovoltaic panels and a pervious concrete driveway.

A small company remodeled a 60-year-old former food processing facility into a 5,650-square-foot office space. Thirty sun tunnel fixtures introduce natural daylight into the previously dark space. Low-flow fixtures and a greywater reclamation system reduced water use by 40 percent compared to baseline standards. Other green attributes include low-VOC materials, recycling station and landscaping.
