Latest industry news shows green products/labeling are getting placed
under a brighter spotlight. In RD+B’s
Nov/Dec issue, columnists John Wagner wrote about the Federal
Trade Commission
 getting
involved in green product labeling. The FTC aims to regulate
greenwashing labels and other labeling methods that companies use that
aren’t transparent.

In other product regulating steps, the Greenguard
Environmental Institute
and the National
School Supply and Equipment Association

announced a partnership dedicated to third-party certification of
sustainable products in educational facilities.

“We are excited to partner with NSSEA—the leader in
the educational products marketplace—to drive positive change
in the industry and create healthier products for healthier schools
across the nation,” said Dr. Marilyn Black, founder of the
Greenguard Environmental Institute in the news release.
