Group Formed To Serve Solid Surface Sector

Hillsborough, NJ A new organization aimed at the
thermoset solid surface products sector has been formed by a
consortium of manufacturers, suppliers and others allied to the
field, the group announced.

The new organization, called the Thermoset Solid
Surface Council (TSSC), announced its formation in December of
2002. The trade group’s headquarters is located in Hillsborough,
NJ.

“With confusion over definition, benefits and
aesthetic qualities, thermoset solid surface products now have an
entity to educate, promote and support the essence, qualities and
benefits of these products,” commented TSSC organizer and
spokesperson Lee Richard Jani.

Jani added that the TSSC will also “foster a better
understanding of solid surface ingredients, materials and finished
products.”

The solid surface industry has been served by two
trade associations the International Solid Surface Fabricators
Association (ISSFA) and the International Cast Polymer Association
(ICPA). While the two associations have differed in the past
regarding the issue of performance standards for solid surface
materials, leaders have met recently in an effort to bring the
organizations closer together.

Additional information about the TSSC can be
