We utilize BuilderTrend project management software to consolidate our project information in one place. This helps us avoid miscommunication and confusion on projects, and allows our customers to be engaged in the process.
Rising costs for labor and building materials along with higher inflation on everything else is forcing remodelers and home pros to raise prices dramatically. Tell us about the most effective ways you are passing along these rising prices to your clients?:
We price jobs based on our actual and projected costs, with a contract clause to address rising costs of materials. If the price of a component material rises significantly after contract ratification but during or before the project, we pass the additional cost on to our clients.
Supply shortages have required you to ask clients to go back and pick another finish or building material. What are your tips for handing these product trade-off conversations?:
Clients understand that there have been supply chain issues and shortages across many industries and products. We also try to order selected items well before we need them. If an item is out of stock, we have time to wait for it or make another selection.
