ISH N. America Termed a Success

Toronto ISH North America’s 2002 event, aimed at the plumbing
products and kitchen/bath industries, “exceeded expectations” at
its premiere here last month, show sponsors said.

According to the show’s organizers, the Atlanta-based Messe
Frankfurt, Inc., nearly 11,000 people attended the Oct. 31-Nov. 2
event, held at the National Trade Centre at Exhibition Place. U.S.
attendees accounted for 5,300 visitors, said Karl Eichner, a Messe
Frankfurt spokesman.

Some 475 exhibitors participated in the three-day event, Messe
Frankfurt added, noting that 23% of the exhibitors were
Canadian-based companies. U.S.-based companies accounted for almost
72% of the exhibit space, and non-North American exhibitors
accounted for 5%.

The first-time show, which was formerly operated under the NEX
umbrella, is part of an effort by Messe Frankfurt to produce a
consolidated trade show representing all aspects of the
kitchen/bath, plumbing, PVF, heating and air conditioning

“The impressive success of the first ISH North America event
confirms the validity of the integrative approach of putting the
kitchen and bath, plumbing, PVF, heating and air conditioning
products under one roof,” said Roland Bleinroth, president of Messe
Frankfurt. “We will continue to pursue this concept and remain
hopeful that other industry partners will join the show
consolidation effort.”

ISH North America was produced in partnership with Messe
Frankfurt, the American Supply Association, the Canadian Institute
of Plumbing & Heating, and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling
Contractors National Association.
The next ISH North America will be conducted Oct. 1-3, 2003 at the
Mandalay Bay’s new convention center in Las Vegas, Eichner
