Versatex Building Products

Instead of turning to luxury woods with dark finishes when specifying a tongue-and-groove ceiling for outdoor areas, Versatex Building Products offers its Canvas Series as a solution. It combines the beauty of black cherry, walnut or tropical macore with the technical advantages of PVC exterior trim. After three years of research and development, Versatex’s Canvas Series presents a straight, knot-free material in uniform lengths for achieving the character of hardwood tongue-and-groove porch ceilings without the maintenance. While engineered specifically for ceilings and other applications with minimal UV exposure, the series can also be used as wainscoting and other interior applications where moisture resistance is critical. The selection of wood tones—black cherry, walnut or tropical macore—were selected based on feedback from builders, dealers and distributors.

The initial Canvas Series release conforms to the familiar Versatex WP4 tongue-and-groove profile with wood-grain laminates bonded to moisture-resistant cellular PVC. Offered in 18-foot lengths, the WP4 profile measures ¾ inch thick and spans up to 24 inches on center. A matching 4-inch crown moulding is available in 16-foot lengths, and the system includes a color-matched touchup kit for use on butt joints or any fastener marks.

The Halo Surface LED Downlight (SMD) from Eaton can be installed directly into drywall without the need for recessed housing or

In addition to the direct mount versions, the Halo SMD family can also be installed into 4-, 5- and 6-inch recessed housings as well as many 3 ½- and 4-inch square, octagon and round junction boxes. The downlight features an LED quick wiring connector that meets high-efficacy code requirements, providing a modern solution for new construction, remodel or retrofit applications.

The Halo SMD family is offered in 4- (SMD4) or 6-inch (SMD6) sizes with 810 lumens and 815 lumens, respectively. The ultra-low-profile downlight comes in round and square models and is dimmable down to 5 percent with many leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmers.
