ALPHARETTA, Ga.—Hansgrohe, Inc., wholly-owned subsidiary of Hansgrohe SE, announces the appointment of Erik Christensen as President/GM effective April 7, 2014.

Formerly a Vice President at Armstrong World Industries, Christensen is equipped with more than 25 years experience in the building products and flooring industries. With a proven track record in logistics, operations and sales, his diverse range of expertise will serve him well in his new role at Hansgrohe. He will look to build on the company’s record growth in 2013, while overseeing a team of 250 employees and the manufacturing facility in Alpharetta, Ga.

Christensen’s move to Hansgrohe comes after having worked with some recognized manufacturers in the building products sector. From 1987 to 1999, Christensen worked with Armstrong World Industries in various capacities. He then, from 1999 to 2008, assumed leadership roles at Closetmaid, Shaw Industries and Edge Flooring. In 2008, Christensen returned to Armstrong World Industries, moving up the ranks to Vice President, Sales, Residential Floor Products East.

According to Interim President Sibylle Mair, “Hansgrohe’s foundation is built on leadership, innovation, dedication and service. It was important to find those core qualities in our next president. We cast a wide net and very carefully reviewed each candidate to ensure that we found just the right person to guide our U.S. team. Christensen’s strong work ethic along with his industry experience and accomplishments in the commercial and residential markets made him stand out from the rest.”
