Business technology and business software are offering new ways for remodelers and home improvement professionals to improve client experience and customer satisfaction. In what ways are you using software or technology to improve client experience?:

First and foremost, we have evolved to using video communications technologies like Microsoft teams and Zoom much more throughout our process. In addition, we use design selection software like DesignFiles to assist in the selection process during design. Further adoption of technology across our business has enabled our team to communicate more information more quickly internally and externally.

Rising costs for labor and building materials along with higher inflation on everything else is forcing remodelers and home pros to raise prices dramatically. Tell us about the most effective ways you are passing along these rising prices to your clients?:

Communication early and often is the key to letting clients know when circumstances change regarding pricing. In addition, proactively setting expectations upfront is crucial to clients understanding that these changes can and likely will happen throughout their home renovation process.

Supply shortages have required you to ask clients to go back and pick another finish or building material. What are your tips for handing these product trade-off conversations?:

Once again, communicating early and often and proactively setting expectations is key to clients best receiving these kinds of changes when they happen. In addition, moving quickly on finishes/picking finishes earlier in the process allows us to lock in important finishes while they are still available.
