Masco Adds to Holdings With Ginger Purchase

Taylor, MI Masco Corp., the corporate parent of many of the
kitchen/bath industry’s leading manufacturers, has acquired Ginger
(GUSA) USA, a Fort Mill, SC-based supplier of bathroom accessories,
the company said.

The acquisition, announced at Masco’s midsummer Investor’s
Meeting in New York City, adds to Masco’s growing roster of kitchen
and bath product manufacturers. That roster already includes
cabinet manufacturers Merillat Industries, KraftMaid Cabinetry,
Mill’s Pride, StarMark, Fieldstone, Texwood Industries and Quality,
Cabinets as well as Delta Faucet and a wide range of other major
building products suppliers.

Ginger, founded in 1986, produces bath accessories, cabinet
hardware, grab bars, mirrors and light sconces. The $10-million
company will operate as a separate division of Masco unit Melard
Mfg. Co., Masco officials said, adding that Ginger president Marc
Bickler and v.p. Sharon Bickler will remain with the company.
