1. Demand for services is stronger than ever. Supply delays are widespread. Building product prices are rising. Please name the concrete steps you take to keep customers satisfied as timelines and prices are fluctuating?

It’s all about more communication to the customer. We are in constant contact with our suppliers & trades on a daily basis. Our Contract has been updated with a price escalation clause, along with our specification sheets & preliminary design price ranges. Sharing this in 3-stages provides the customer with as much information in advance while we also guide them throughout the process.

2. A good remodeling or home improvement firm knows the limits of its capabilities to take on additional work. What do/would you communicate to clients when you cannot handle their job and must decline their inquiry?

When we talk to new clients we spend a lot of time understanding why they are doing a project & what kind of project it is. Some clients need projects done in a short timeframe, if we can’t do the job within their timeframes, we explain how far out we are & offer to do the project at a later date. With other clients we explain our Family business & the size of our Team. We always tell the truth about our schedule & if they are not willing to wait, we refer them on.

3. During busy times like these, operational adjustments are needed in order to take on more work, often with the same level of staffing. What steps have you taken to ensure a quality experience despite the added workloads for your team?

In addition to hiring more labor assistance as needed, we stay in constant communication with our Lead Carpenters to determine their current and future workload. We assess current jobs in progress , upcoming sold jobs, product availability and client time lines to insure the client communication does not falter during this time. Everyone on our team helps out where needed, including the owners who are known to show up on a job-site to work alongside our Lead Carpenters should the need arise.
