Business technology and business software are offering new ways for remodelers and home improvement professionals to improve client experience and customer satisfaction. In what ways are you using software or technology to improve client experience?:
Home remodeling can be stressful for clients. Our goal is to make the process simple and seamless, while keeping the client engaged. Through the use of our CoConstruct Project management software, Video Platforms such as Zoom and E-Signature Software, we are accessible to our clients quickly and remotely. Mobile apps in the field help boost productivity and improves service which ultimately increases customer satisfaction.
Rising costs for labor and building materials along with higher inflation on everything else is forcing remodelers and home pros to raise prices dramatically. Tell us about the most effective ways you are passing along these rising prices to your clients?:
Education is paramount in developing a relationship with our clients. Upon the first consultation at the client’s home, we have our clients define their scope of work and provide a range of budget. We share our history of similar projects and may provide a cost range at that time. We also explain the Cost vs Value Report from the National Remodeling Magazine. We discuss how our process works, the importance of working quickly and efficiently to lock in costs and come to a fixed price for the client.
We feel it’s important to have an honest conversation discussing the cause of rising costs and explaining project delays. Educating our team by keeping in constant contact with our vendors, trades, and suppliers. We offer clients the option to handle certain aspects of the job such as demolition, and or painting to reduce costs. If prices increase after contract signing, we are transparent with our clients.
Supply shortages have required you to ask clients to go back and pick another finish or building material. What are your tips for handing these product trade-off conversations?:
Owner/Designer Aubrey & her assistant Kali, guide our clients through our Design + Build process. Designing 3D & construction drawings for a remodel takes creativity to work with the client’s budget & available products. We stay in constant contact with our trades and suppliers to know which products are available when the job begins. Open communication is key, and clients have been understanding with ever-changing times.
