Business technology and business software are offering new ways for remodelers and home improvement professionals to improve client experience and customer satisfaction. In what ways are you using software or technology to improve client experience?:
We create high resolution models and renderings for our customers. After each design meeting, we share the working model with our clients so they can review and walk through the spaces at their own pace. During the entire design – build process, our customers have access to our cloud based workflow program. We share notes, designs, files, photos, videos and daily logs. At anytime, our homeowners can see whats happening on job-sites and behind the scenes.
Rising costs for labor and building materials along with higher inflation on everything else is forcing remodelers and home pros to raise prices dramatically. Tell us about the most effective ways you are passing along these rising prices to your clients?:
The best way to manage rising costs is to be transparent with customers. We update them on a regular basis. To keep costs under control, we complete our design packages early so orders can be placed and prices are fixed. Our clients purchase plumbing fixtures, appliances, accessories and finish materials at our direct wholesale cost. This protects them from being charged for price increases, contractor mark-up and overhead from design – build firms with showrooms.
Supply shortages have required you to ask clients to go back and pick another finish or building material. What are your tips for handing these product trade-off conversations?:
We specify, source, price and order finishes – building materials very early on, so re-selecting is seldom required. Lead times are known and shared with our customers before orders are placed.
