The COVID-19 pandemic changed homeowner interactions. What measures do you use to signal an extra level of care when working in or around a client’s home?

We have set up separate construction team egress points on our sites, so that our team does not pass through the areas where the family is living during construction. We also tent all projects, to keep the air as sealed as possible, make good use of air scrubbers, and limit the number of construction personnel on a site at any given time.

Seamless communication technology is now both necessary and expected. How have you used new technology platforms to promote better customer communication and satisfaction?

We conduct all of our Consultations and many of our design meetings via Zoom video conferencing. This allows us to form genuine face to face bonds, and open clear lines of communication with our clients, while keeping everyone safe.

We have always also provided very clear time-lines and schedules for the completion of our projects so that there is no question as to when the project is scheduled to be complete.

What was your message to clients with projects in progress in order to keep them happy and satisfied during the uncertainty of the stay-at-home period?

We focused on producing and distributing very positive messaging and news.

In the last month, we donated money to make masks for a local senior assisted living facility, one of our project managers helped an elderly man see his wife in another assisted care facility, we donated a temporary shower to a client who works in the medical field to help her sanitize after work before seeing her family, and we donated over a dozen children’s design build activities and games to all of our clients in custom give bags.

We stayed in touch via email, phone, and text, to make sure all of their needs and concerns were met and discussed, and aimed to meet our mission of “lifting spirits with spaces” by donating these family activities.
