New K/B Trade Show Set For North America

Atlanta Messe Frankfurt, Inc., the major European-based trade
show producer whose properties include the massive biennial ISH
trade show, will launch a North American version of the show next
year, placing a concerted emphasis on kitchen and bath products and
technology, according to show management.

Messe Frankfurt, Inc., operating out of offices here, announced
that the inaugural ISH North America will take place Oct. 31
through Nov. 2, 2002, at the National Trade Centre, in Toronto.

Show management has also announced that Messe Frankfurt, Inc. is
partnering with Todd Davis and Alan Peterson, principals in the
recently formed Davis Peterson Collaborative, in marketing the
kitchen and bath sector of ISH North America, which will take place
every other year.

Until several months ago, when he joined with Peterson in the
formation of their new Dallas-based company, Davis had been a vice
president at Miller Freeman, Inc., where he headed the operation
and development of trade shows, magazines and Web sites in the
building, real estate and design industries.

Among the properties he was responsible for was the Kitchen/Bath
Industry Show (K/BIS), as well as its co-sponsor, Kitchen &
Bath Business magazine. Both the magazine and the K/BIS trade show
have since been acquired by New York-based Bill
Communications. 

Peterson had been group director of Miller Freeman’s Building
Group, and was responsible for the management, financial control,
marketing and sales activities of K/BIS.

Both Davis and Peterson have been among the individuals credited
with building the exhibitor base and attendance of the annual K/BIS
event, which some exhibitors have lobbied to be conducted in an
every-other-year format.

“Our new partnership provides impressive industry expertise in
marketing the new consolidated ISH event for North America,” said
Messe Frankfurt, Inc. spokesman Dirk Ebener. “Todd Davis and Alan
Peterson have a proven track record of success in the kitchen/bath
and related industries. Both contribute extensive experience in
industry trade shows in the kitchen and bath, building and design
sector to the ISH North America team.”

Added Messe Frankfurt, Inc. president Roland Bleinroth, “Both
Alan Peterson and Todd Davis are very experienced in the building
industry and have an intimate knowledge of the kitchen and bath
sector. We are happy that these prominent industry experts have
decided to join the effort to make ISH North America a stunning
success.”

According to show management, ISH North America will integrate
six major industry sectors heating/ ventilation systems; air
technology; kitchen and bath products and technology;
plumbing/hydronics/PVF; measuring
conditioning/testing/control/regulation technology, and lighting
and building automation. ISH North America is being sponsored by
the American Supply Association (ASA), the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling
Contractors National Association (PHCC) and the Canadian Institute
of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH).

“For many years, many segments of the building industry have
strongly requested an inclusive, successful, consolidated event to
serve their mutual interests efficiently,” said Davis. 

“We are very excited to join the ISH North America team in
tailoring the new event to serve the needs of the industry,” added
Peterson.

ISH North America sponsors said they are inviting other industry
associations and key industry entities “to join the consolidation
efforts” launched by ISH North America, “in an effort to develop
the most comprehensive trade show possible.”
