New Trade Show to be Aimed at ‘Luxury’
Market

Dallas A new trade show aimed at high-end kitchen and bath
professionals and manufacturers is being launched later this year
by the Davis Peterson Collaborative LLC, the Dallas-based company
formed recently by two executives previously associated with the
Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS).

The Luxury Kitchen and Bath Collection (Luxury Collection),
being promoted as “the world’s only trade event dedicated to the
high-end kitchen and bath market,” will make its debut Nov. 28-29
at the Boca Raton Resort and Beach Club, in Boca Raton, FL, the
Davis Peterson Collaborative announced.

“The luxury kitchen and bath market is an industry unto itself,”
said Todd Davis, partner with Alan Peterson in the Davis Peterson
Collaborative. “The Luxury Collection will serve this market in a
way that parallels the unique characteristics of the high-end
kitchen and bath niche, which is not currently being represented by
any other trade event in the world.”

“Finally, the luxury market will have a core event to
collectively move it forward with a fresh approach to current trade
events,” added Peterson.

The announcement of the high-end show venture represents the
second consecutive month that the Davis Peterson Collaborative has
made a move on the trade show front.

The Davis Peterson Collaborative announced last month that it
was partnering with Messe Frankfurt, Inc., the major European-based
trade show producer that will launch a North American version of
the plumbing products show ISH next year in Toronto. The Davis
Peterson Collaborative will market the kitchen and bath sector of
ISH North America, which will take place annually in U.S. venues
after its 2002 launch in Toronto.

Until several months ago, when he joined with Peterson in the
formation of their company, Davis had been a v.p. at Miller
Freeman, Inc., where he headed the operation and development of
trade shows, magazines and Web sites in the building, real estate
and design industries. Among the properties he was responsible for
at Miller Freeman’s Building Group was K/BIS and the show’s
co-sponsor, Kitchen & Bath Business magazine both of which have
since been acquired by the New York-based Bill Communications.

Peterson had been group director of Miller Freeman’s Building
Group, and was responsible for the daily management, financial
control, marketing and sales activities of K/BIS and several other
properties.

According to the Davis Peterson Collaborative, an advisory board
of eight luxury product manufacturers has been established to
provide “a true collaboration between event organizers and industry
representatives.” The advisory board consists of Cheng Designs,
Poliform USA, PS Craftsmanship, Rohl LLC, Serdaneli, Sub-Zero, Wolf
Gourmet and Watermark Designs.

The luxury kitchen and bath market “is the most overlooked
‘niche’ in our industry today,” said Kevin Henry of Poliform USA.
“The Luxury Collection is an opportunity to bring the ‘right’
people together with the ‘right’ products. The Luxury Collection is
more than just a market; it is a ‘private party,’ and select,
high-end professionals and manufacturers will be invited.”

According to the Davis Peterson Collaborative, the Luxury
Collection will be aimed at designers, dealers, distributors,
architects and estate homebuilders who serve the high end of the
market.
These attendees “will be drawn to the juried, luxurious product
showroom boutiques gathered in a sophisticated resort atmosphere
showcasing the leading kitchen and bath brands,” the Davis Peterson
Collaborative said.
