Business technology and business software are offering new ways for remodelers and home improvement professionals to improve client experience and customer satisfaction. In what ways are you using software or technology to improve client experience?:

Over that past two years we have developed an automated intake system that allows prospective clients to request information and appointments at any time of day. Our system automatically enters their data into our CRM and sends the designer a notification.

This system also allows our clients to gain more information about pricing, timelines and other details with the click of a button. Once construction begins our clients receive a weekly experience survey that allows them to voice any concerns in the moment. These concerns are then addressed by our project manager in a timely manner.
We have also implemented QR codes in our marketing materials so the prospect can easily access our website without typing our information into google or a web browser.

Rising costs for labor and building materials along with higher inflation on everything else is forcing remodelers and home pros to raise prices dramatically. Tell us about the most effective ways you are passing along these rising prices to your clients?:

We find what works best for us is open and honest communication. Setting clear expectations in the initial conversations provides clients with transparency before we even begin designing their project. It is important to us to make sure the client feels informed and knowledgeable of what is currently happening throughout the industry.

Supply shortages have required you to ask clients to go back and pick another finish or building material. What are your tips for handing these product trade-off conversations?:Odell Construction Inc.

When a situation arises where we need to select a different material due to shortages, our design team is able to present similar materials at similar price points to the client and explain the situation. At the end of the day, we don’t want the client to feel that they are settling for less when it comes to the design and materials so it is our job to make sure we are able to still execute what the client wants in their home. We want to make sure the client understands that we are utilizing all our resources and vendor relationships to the best of our abilities in order to make their renovation something they will love for many years.
