The COVID-19 pandemic changed homeowner interactions. What measures do you use to signal an extra level of care when working in or around a client’s home?

In response to the pandemic, Odell Construction has integrated an entirely virtual appointment system. Our new integrated process starts with a landing page that includes an instructional video on how to submit images and a short video of your space before your virtual consultation. This has allowed us to limit the time spent in a client’s home and gives the prospect the option to talk with our designers right from the comfort of their own home. Our construction and office teams have also implemented daily “wellness checks”, a “daily contact log” which documents the location of each of our staff allowing us to track contact between employees and customers given the off chance that someone may become ill. Our office staff has also rearranged the desks into separate rooms throughout the office to offer each team member their own safe space to work and feel comfortable.

The last of the safety measures are “”sanitation boxes”” that are taken to each job site including masks, sanitizing spray, gloves, paper towels and a posted sign on the job site and in the office with the guidelines that have been set by Odell Construction in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Seamless communication technology is now both necessary and expected. How have you used new technology platforms to promote better customer communication and satisfaction?

Our office staff has been utilizing Zoom for mostly all appointments with clients which allows us to screen share design concepts and to see the client face to face. In our opinion, the transition to virtual was an easy one and by seeing the client face to face with Zoom, it gives us the ability to continue to grow relationships with our clients. This has also been very convenient for the client because they are now able to meet with us around their busy day and we are able to offer more availability for our appointment schedule.

What was your message to clients with projects in progress in order to keep them happy and satisfied during the uncertainty of the stay-at-home period?
