Since Covid, we are more engaged in digital interactions with customers. The latest available technologies & software have helped small contractors like us to reach more customers than we had in the past. Some customers still prefer the face to face meetings, but most of today’s customers are technologically savvy and it’s great to have the available options.
Rising costs for labor and building materials along with higher inflation on everything else is forcing remodelers and home pros to raise prices dramatically. Tell us about the most effective ways you are passing along these rising prices to your clients?:
We hadn’t had the need to add the price escalation clause to our contracts until now and our customers understand that our current economic circumstances are different than it had been in the past. Most customers are aware of the current inflation and rising costs and they are willing to adjust.
Supply shortages have required you to ask clients to go back and pick another finish or building material. What are your tips for handing these product trade-off conversations?:
Honest and frank conversations are the best ways to communicate when an unexpected issues arises. Most of the customers are aware of today’s ongoing issues with supply and demand and are most understanding with an honest approach.
