Easing installation of freestanding bathtubs

Americh eases the difficulty of installing a freestanding bathtub—due to alignment and connection of a drain pipe—with its Drop-In Drain installation kit. The process involves placing a tub, tracing its location on the floor, marking the drain location over the plumbing trap, cutting a hole in the subfloor and dropping in the Drop-In Drain installation kit. A reusable cap allows for multiple pressure tests, and if adjustments are needed, the plate can be uninstalled. For use with any freestanding, alcove or drop-in bathtub with 1 ½- or 2-in. drains, the kit does away with the need for an access panel.
