DURAVIT INTRODUCES SEAMLESS WAY TO CONNECT FURNITURE VANITY AND CERAMIC WASHBASIN “C-Bonded” Design Solution Uses DuraCeram Technology to Create Unified Piece

(May 2016 — New York, NY) — With a 200-year history of developing innovative solutions for the bathroom, Duravit has patented yet another sleek design with its C-Bonded Furniture Washbasin. Using Duravit’s proprietary DuraCeram material, C-Bonded washbasins connect seamlessly to their vanity units, giving the appearance of a single, unified piece. The material thickness of the washbasin is hidden from view, reducing the piece to a purely designed vanity with an unbroken transition between ceramic surface and furniture body. This fresh look radiates an exceptionally clean and modern aesthetic.

“C-Bonded creates a new way to look at the bathroom,” explains Duravit USA President Tim Schroeder. “By giving this illusion of a single piece, the vanity’s impeccable design is showcased first and foremost. This innovation is completely new to the industry, and was accomplished thanks to the expertise Duravit holds in ceramic craftsmanship.”

The key to C-Bonded’s success is found in its DuraCeram composition. Duravit specially developed this material to achieve a uniquely slender ceramic that is, at the same time, supremely wear-resistant. Its slim edge enables the ceramic and the furniture to be precisely fitted to form a single unit. The two are mitered together using a patented technique that achieves the particularly streamlined look.

C-Bonded will be available on select furniture vanities from the Darling New collection, by sieger design, and the L-Cube series, by Christian Werner.
