Second ‘Luxury’ Event Set for 2002

Dallas The second annual Luxury Kitchen and Bath Collection (The
Collection), the recently-launched trade show and educational event
aimed at high-end kitchen/bath professionals and manufacturers, has
been set for next year in San Francisco, event organizers

The Collection 2002 will take place Dec. 2-3, 2002 at the Saint
Francis Hotel in San Francisco’s Union Square, according to the
Davis Peterson Collaborative LLC, the Dallas-based company formed
earlier this year by two executives previously associated with the
Kitchen/Bath Industry Show.

The Collection, promoted as “the world’s only trade event
dedicated to the high-end kitchen and bath market,” is making its
debut later this month at the Boca Raton Resort and Beach Club, in
Boca Raton, FL.

The inaugural event which will involve kitchen and bath dealers,
showrooms, designers, architects and design/architectural firms
serving the high-end hospitality industry is expected to be a
sellout, said Todd Davis, partner in the Davis Peterson

The Collection 2002 will be enhanced with several new features,
including an exhibit area, Davis said. Expanded, museum-styled
Product Showcase Displays, custom-made Product Stage Displays and
sponsorships to all facets of the event will continue to be
offered, Davis added.

“Our goal for The Collection is to provide the luxury kitchen
and bath industry with an event that offers knowledge-based
education from the perspective of industry experts inside and
outside the kitchen and bath market, while providing insights to
the trends which will impact and translate into the high-end
kitchen and bath market,” Davis said.

“With the huge response we received (to the 2001 event), we will
expand the convocation, the networking and product positioning
opportunities not available in any other trade forum in the U.S.,”
he observed.

Until earlier this year, when he joined with Alan Peterson in
the formation of their company, Davis had been a vice president at
Miller Freeman, Inc., where he headed the operation and development
of trade shows, magazines and Web sites in the building, real
estate and design industries. Among the properties he was
responsible for at Miller Freeman’s Building Group was K/BIS and
the show’s co-sponsor, Kitchen & Bath Business magazine both of
which have since been acquired by the New York-based Bill

Peterson had been group director of Miller Freeman’s Building
Group, and was responsible for the daily management, financial
control, marketing and sales activities of the K/BIS and several
other properties.
