West Shore Home, the Mechanicsburg, PA-based home remodeling services provider expanded its national footprint with the acquisition of Design Center, Inc., a specialist in mobile app development, virtual reality solutions and custom software, the company announced.

“Not many will understand right away how big of a deal this is, but over the next year or two it will become clear that this was a seminal moment for our industry!” said West Shore CEO B.J. Werzyn.

Headquartered in St. Paul, MN, Design Center specializes in mobile application development, user experience research, consulting and implementation, content management solutions, custom software platforms, website design and other cutting-edge technology, according to West Shore, which now has 33 operational locations in 15 states, including Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

West Shore‘s move to own a software and business technology publisher is part of a tech-trend in the home improvement industry. Florida-based Titan Holdings, which operates the Reunity family of large home improvement brands launched a technology division with its purchase of Lead Perfection, a New York based software solutions company. Along the same lines, Power Home Remodeling Group is well known for its proprietary and wholly owned technology backbone called Nitro.

“As we look to the future, technology is key to our continued growth,” added Werzyn. “Bringing this established, well-respected software designer under our roof furthers our vision.” QR
