Spangler Named CEO of NKBA
Hackettstown, NJ The National Kitchen & Bath Association
(NKBA) has appointed Larry Spangler as Chief Executive Officer,
filling a position that was left vacant by the resignation four
months ago of Cecelia Balazs.
The NKBA’s board of directors made Spangler’s appointment
official last month; he had been serving as acting CEO of the
Hackettstown, NJ-based trade association since the departure of
Balazs last fall.
Spangler has served NKBA for more than four years as director of
marketing, as well as acting CEO. He has been responsible for
directing brand positioning, all marketing efforts, and the
association’s involvement with the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show
(K/BIS) & Conference.
Prior to his work with the NKBA, he was a marketing professional
for more than 25 years within the home furnishings industry first
with Armstrong Floors & Ceilings in Pennsyl-vania, then with
Thomasville Furniture in North Carolina.
“I am honored to lead this first-class professional association
and look forward to working with our strong volunteer leadership
and exceptional staff team,” Spangler said. “Working together,
we’ll take our programs to the next level in support of this
vibrant kitchen and bath industry.”
He added that he will be reviewing the existing staff structure
at NKBA headquarters to determine if, and how, his former position
as director of marketing would be handled.
