Boulder, Colo., has rigorous sustainable design, material, size and site planning requirements in the country. The building of this home took place following the worst forest fire the state had seen, so the homeowner was also interested in ignition resistant materials. Local stone, cementitious stucco and heavy timber make up the home’s exterior with a stone and concrete perimeter. Use of LED and CFL lamps and lighting continue the sustainability goals, while simultaneously furthering the indoor and outdoor blending the homeowner sought.
