Voters Select James Hardie Products for Project Home

CHICAGO—Popular internet vote selected James Hardie Building Products to be featured on the2013 project home for the DIY Network series Blog Cabin. The People’s Choice component of Blog Cabin 2013 voted on every design decision and material for the renovation of the Atlantic, N.C. home that originated as a one-room cedar shake cottage.

The home has expanded several times since being built originally in the mid-1800s. The project home is now an eight-room, 1,600-sq. ft. that has a classic cottage style. Internet votes chose James Hardie HardieShingle siding in light mist along with HardieTrim boards in arctic white to help maintain that style.

“Our HardieShingle siding provides a look and feel that’s similar to the home’s original cedar shakes, but it’s lower maintenance and stands up to environmental factors,” says John Dybsky, senior marketing manager, James Hardie. “With HardieShingle siding in light mist and HardieTrim boards in arctic while, viewers also chose a gorgeous color palette.”

The James Hardie products will be highlighted on the program Desperate Landscapes on Sept. 2 and a Blog Cabin 2013 special on Sept. 12. More information about the project home or James Hardie can be found here
