Whirlpool Aids Housing Effort With
Appliances

Benton Harbor, MI Whirlpool Corp. will be donating $25 million
worth of appliances over the next five years to assist a major
North American homebuilding effort planned by Habitat for Humanity
International, the company said.

The contribution, part of a nationwide community service effort
known as Home Builders Care 2000, means that the company will be
contributing some 40,000 refrigerators and ranges for the estimated
4,000 homes per year that the Americus, GA-based Habitat for
Humanity is planning to build for poverty-level families in the
U.S. and Canada.
