Whirlpool Corp. To Market HVAC
Products
Benton Harbor, MI Whirlpool Corp., the appliance manufacturing
giant and parent company
of KitchenAid, will be expanding its manufacturing and marketing
efforts to include a new line of central heating, ventilating and
air conditioning (HVAC) products that will carry the Whirlpool
brand name, the company recently announced.
Whirlpool, headquartered here, said that it has signed a
multi-year licensing agreement with Watsco, Inc., to be its
exclusive national distributor for the Whirlpool branded
products.
Additionally, the products will be sold and jointly marketed in
both the remodeling and new construction markets. All of the
products are expected to be ready for distribution by early 2003,
the company predicts.
Watsco is currently the nation’s largest distributor of HVAC
products, with 290 locations in 30 states, according to Whirlpool
Corp.
